The intersection of art and artificial intelligence continues to evolve, with CreateSafe, the innovative music tech studio, leading the way. CreateSafe, the brainchild of Grimes’ manager Daouda Leonard, has officially unveiled its generative AI-powered platform, Triniti. This groundbreaking platform, which is now available on the web as a free open beta, promises to empower artists and creators in unprecedented ways.

The journey to Triniti’s launch began when Grimes, the acclaimed Canadian electronic artist, made headlines by pledging to share 50% of her AI-generated voice royalties with fellow artists. She introduced Elf.Tech, an open-source AI voice software, enabling artists to replicate her distinctive voice in their compositions and reap half of the earnings. Elf.Tech served as the prototype for CreateSafe’s ambitious Triniti platform, reflecting the commitment to democratizing AI in music.

Grimes, who recently joined CreateSafe’s advisory board, has been instrumental in pushing the boundaries of AI’s role in music creation. Elf.Tech alone has generated over 1,000 songs mimicking Grimes’ unique voice, demonstrating the potential of AI to amplify artistic expression.

CreateSafe has also attracted substantial investment, securing $4.6 million in funding for its Triniti platform. This seed round was led by Polychain Capital and boasted participation from prominent industry figures, including Kendrick Lamar’s manager Anthony Saleh, 11:11 Media founded by Paris Hilton, Unified Music Group, Crush Ventures, MoonPay, Chaac Ventures, and Dan Weisman, the vice president of Bernstein Private Wealth Management.

The infusion of capital will play a pivotal role in Triniti’s ongoing development, promising to expand its capabilities and reach in the ever-evolving music technology landscape.

Triniti, often referred to as an “artistic intelligence” platform, offers a diverse range of tools aimed at empowering creators. At its core, it leverages a customized Realistic Voice Cloning (RVC) model to allow artists to record and train their voices, resulting in a digital voice clone. This clone, accompanied by a “voice likeness” certificate, grants artists control over how their voice is licensed, distributed, and monetized.

One of the most significant challenges in the music industry, particularly in the context of AI-generated music, is copyright protection. Triniti addresses this concern by providing a clear licensing framework, enabling artists to safeguard their voice and maintain ownership over their digital clone.

Beyond voice cloning, Triniti boasts an AI sample generator, offering creators the ability to input a genre or mood preference, such as a “catchy yet haunting love song.” The platform then generates four audio tracks, each paired with album artwork, providing artists with a rich source of inspiration.

For artists seeking guidance, Triniti features a virtual companion capable of answering questions related to the music industry, further enhancing the creative process.

In addition, Triniti’s management tool employs Legal Language Models (LLMs) to automate workflow tasks, streamlining deal cataloging, invoice creation, client onboarding, and project organization.

As of today, Grimes’ AI voice technology, audio samples, and chat functionalities are available for free. The platform offers these features without charge to encourage creators to explore its capabilities. However, more advanced features such as voice cloning, licensing, distribution, and management apps are accessible upon request and approval.

Triniti’s forward-looking plans include the introduction of editing tools, a MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) processing visual, and the launch of iOS and Android apps. The platform also intends to introduce a subscription model, providing users with various tiers priced between $99 and $150 per year.

Grimes aptly sums up the driving force behind Triniti’s creation: “Art generates so much money as an industry, and artists see so little of it. A lot of people talk about abundance as one of the main end goals of tech, acceleration, AI, etc. For us, the first step is actually figuring out how to remove friction from the process of getting resources into artists’ hands.” As Triniti continues to evolve, it holds the promise of achieving this noble objective, ushering in a new era of artistic innovation and collaboration powered by AI.
